An Epic Day at the Worcester Men’s Conference

Men crowd the Catholic Quest/Family First table

Back in April Catholic Quest and the Family First Committee attended the Worcester Catholic Men’s Conference. We brought our petition (addressed to Archbishop Henning) opposing Transgenderism and Pride ideology in Catholic schools. People displayed great interest and lined up to sign with enthusiasm and expressions of solidarity. Three guys manned the table all day, a retired grandfather, an expectant dad who teaches at a Catholic school and a single public school teacher. We collected 300 signatures (attendance was about 1000) even though we had a less than optimal location that was not in the main traffic flow. Guys were spreading the word to their friends and one wonderful lady (there were many women at the vendor tables) even handed out our flyers and directed people to our location encouraging them to sign. People seemed very glad to see us! It was a truly uplifting experience.

With a handful of exceptions nearly everyone who looked at the petition signed. Men of all ages… fathers, sons, grandfathers, even some priests, brothers and deacons. Plenty of women signed too.

One elderly gentleman who preferred not to sign told us a very sad story about his 35 year old daughter who was “trans.” He still loved her very much, although he hated what she had done to herself.

One person declared that he was a Baptist and was very glad to see we were doing this.

The main consensus was that Pride and Trans were insane and defied all “common sense.” We heard the words “common sense” many times. People asked over and over “where was the Church?” Why didn’t more leaders speak out as Bishop MacManus had done.

Many thanked us for our efforts while expressing disbelief at what was happening to our country.

One dad told us that if the state tried to “transition” his daughter he’d wind up in jail. This of course is one very predictable outcome as certain states keep pushing this satanic ideology and using it to separate kids from parents. It’s only a matter of time before an angry father gets arrested (or worse), and that’s one reason why Catholics need to make a clear stand now before tragedy strikes. The laity (especially fathers) have an obligation to act to protect children and families regardless of whether they get strong support from official Church leaders. For starters, Catholic children should not be attending government school in Massachusetts. Get them out now!

Our petitions have now been delivered to the Archbishop’s office in Braintree and we are waiting hopefully to see if we can meet with him or his representative to discuss this urgent matter.
