An idea whose time has come.
Please listen to this informative and inspirational talk by Frank Wright about why surrogacy is evil and how we can defeat it.
Family First Committee will be discussing concrete steps we can take to jump start a campaign to outlaw surrogacy in Massachusetts, most likely by initiating a ballot question. This is not something that we can do by ourselves at this time so we will begin by reaching out to other groups and individuals about the possibility of forming a coalition.
A movement to ban surrogacy in Massachusetts led by lay Catholics would be an exciting development and would attract great interest because Massachusetts is at the epicenter of surrogacy evil. Furthermore, as Frank eloquently points out, it actually has a chance to succeed, even in our super-woke state. We would get to talk to people who normally wouldn’t talk to us about Christian values that defend the dignity of human life from conception, the rights of children and the sacred bond of mother and child.
We have to face reality. The overturning of Roe v. Wade has demonstrated that the pro-life, pro-family movement, especially in places like Massachusetts, has to be less about demonstrations and marches and standard politics simply because we are vastly outnumbered. In other words the movement has to become about conversion. Conversion of non-Catholics and also “reversion” of fellow Catholics who have basically apostatized in large and growing numbers. Encouraging people directly to take a stand against such an obvious demonic evil as baby selling will do a lot to rebuild Catholic influence in a state which was at one time the most Catholic state in the country.
For further reading here is an article which outlines in more detail how anti-surrogacy would have broad appeal and even bring together folks who would seem to have little in common philosophically and would not normally agree to work together.

And from a few years ago, this article is very helpful. The picture at the top (from Ukraine) is striking evidence for the portrayal of surrogacy as human trafficking.
